Canada in India:

What began as a modest operation situated in the Imperial Hotel in New Delhi has, in the past more than five decades, expanded into one of Canada’s largest missions. The High Commission covers our mutual interests in political, economic and trade relations, immigration, development assistance, public affairs, consular relations, and defence, police and security relations. Central to the efforts of the High Commission in the conduct of Canada’s relationship with India, is the work of the Consulate General of Canada in Mumbai, the Consulate General in Chandigarh, the Consulate in Chennai, and that of the Trade Office of Canada in Bangalore. A further contribution in this regard is provided by the Honorary Consul located in Kolkata.

India in Canada:

The High Commission of India is located in Ottawa. The present building of the High Commission of India was completed in 1980 and inaugurated by the then Secretary of State, Hon’ble Mark MacGuigan. The Architects of the building were M/s. Craig, Kohler and Dickey.” Covering an area of 18,784 sq ft, the building is owned by the Government of India. Central to the efforts of the High Commission in the conduct of India’s relationship with Canada, is the work of the Consulates General of India in Toronto and Vancouver.
